Sunshine and sleep ins

Normally, a Saturday would be a special day, but since I am not working, it really is much like any other day. Not that I am ungrateful. It has been a beautiful day. Nice and warm outside with gorgeous sunshine, peaceful with Pa out for the afternoon, and a wonderful sleep in this morning. Universe 1) I am grateful that I had a good sleep last night and managed to sleep in until 10am. Although I still woke up with a headache I am grateful that I am not so washed out today 2) I am grateful that we have been given such a glorious day today. It is hard to feel anything but wonderful when the sun is shining and the day isn't too hot. 3) I am grateful that I was able to enjoy a cup of tea this morning. Yesterday, due to the sick feeling from the headache, I wasn't able to stomach tea at all so it was great to get my fix today 4) I am grateful, once again, for the peace and quiet I have been able to enjoy this afternoon. 5) I am grateful for Earth Hour tonight. At 8:30 Saturda

Mixed bag today

Today has been a mixed bag so I have had to dig deep for this entry. I had an interview for a new job today which went well and I will find out next week. Had a great time with a student for her first piano lesson in yonkers. I have taught kids my new approach to note reading but not adults so it was good to see that it can work at all ages. I ended up with a migraine today and really bad neck pain. I will have to bite the bullet and use some money to see my physio. I have the house to myself tonight until midnight. It is Pa's regular night out and the peace and quiet is wonderful Universe 1) I am grateful for the interview I had today and that I was given the opportunity to share my experience with new people 2) I am grateful that I have a great lesson today. I love teaching. 3) I am grateful for chocolate milk because it is all my stomach could handle today and grateful I had bought some a couple of days ago 4) I am grateful for the air conditioning today. A migraine is b

Ribena Berries have landed

I have a meeting tomorrow so I thought I should make myself look presentable. I put a colour through my hair which, thanks to the blonde stripes that are in my hair, looks black apart from the stripes which look like a ribena berry has pee'd on my head. For those who don't know, Ribena is a blackcurrant concentrate that you add water to and it is actually a nice drink apart from the high sugar content. The marketing logo uses the ribena berries which are cartoon blackcurrent berry like things in bright purple. I also had to get my nails done as I have acrylic nails and they looked dreadful. I am a definite Diva when it comes to getting my nails done and love the experience. I also had enough visits to get a free pedicure. I have grown to not hate my feet being touched. It was wonderful. Universe 1) I am grateful that I have a meeting tomorrow. Each meeting means I am closer to success 2) I am grateful that home hair colouring is just as good as a salon colour because for $

oh my

I started the day early today. Yay me and I am quite tired now, yay me so I will be going to bed at a normal time tonight. I do have a mega headache and really sore neck tonight but that isn't such a bad thing. It reminds me to take care of my needs. Universe 1) I am grateful for the early morning visit from my sister, her other half and my baby nephew. Great to get a bubby cuddle first thing in the morning. 2) I am grateful that I was able to do a bit of window shopping today. Nice to get out and get my 30min walk in, actually it was about 90mins but I did it inside and in the cool. 3) I am grateful for my lunch today which has actually filled me up and I don't want dinner 4) I am grateful that the chicken ravioli and sauce I bought for tonights dinner will be now pushed over for tomorrow nights dinner. Great to not have to think about it. 5) I am grateful for the headache and neck ache I have now. It is just another reminder that I need to listen to my body and take c

Another teaching day up the mountains on a glorious sunny day in March. It really is a beautiful setting and I am so lucky I get to have so much fun, teaching piano and singing and get to enjoy the drive there and back. Universe 1) I am grateful for the gorgeous weather today 2) I am grateful that I enjoyed teaching and that the kids had a great lesson 3) I am grateful for strawberries. I had a bowl full after Fish and salad for dinner 4) I am grateful for the invention of the modern toilet. I have increased my water intake and blimey, did I need the bathroom today 5) I am grateful that my bed is waiting for me and seems inviting. I am really tired right now so I am going to have a shower and get ready for bed. If I get to sleep before midnight, it will be a record for the last 9mths Blessings

Time spent with an unlikely character

I have had a really lovely day today. I was up early and got a few things done around the house and so on before going to the shops and purchasing a home hair colour kit. Yes, I need a boost and the colour was on sale which is even better. I will put it in tomorrow morning. I decided to walk down to my sisters for my daily walk and it just so happened that it was school finishing time. My 9yr old nephew walked past our house and instead of walking straight by, because it would have been daggy walking with a grown up, he crossed the road and walked all the way with me. We had a good old chat about school, what he has coming up, the easter hat parade, his camp etc. I really didn't expect him to be so chatty. Don't get me wrong. I love him a lot and he is a great kid but 9yr old boys aren't usually very chatty with adults and talking about school is usually a 'dunno' or 'nothin'. I then got to have coffee with my sister and cuddles with my baby nephew while

I am the luckiest Aunt ever

My morning started with an early wake up alarm to get my washing on the line before the storm hit (which hasn't) and then I needed to clean the house. I have an awesome vacuum cleaner, which my sister also thinks is awesome, do it goes on holidays to her house weekly. I needed to pick it up so I went for a visit. Coffee and chat with her and the kids. It was fabulous. The little one smothers me with kisses and cuddles, the older ones talk like there is no tomorrow and fight for vocal time with my sister. I was lucky enough to have my niece offer to come and help clean which was so lovely of her. She is 12 and doesn't offer to help her mum but because I am the aunt, I am special. I decided to take her up on the offer because I planned on rearranging my bedroom. I realised my sleep patterns started to screw up since my last furniture rearrange so I thought I would give it a go and see if it helps. My niece is fabulous at getting into spots since she is smaller than me and she h
